This screen enables you to configure expense and cost accounts in your new database. The fields are as follows:
- Expenses code and Expenses name: This is a header account that all other normal expense accounts are grouped under. The name of this account will appear on reports that group expenses together.
- Cost of sales code and Cost of sales name: This is a header account that is used to group accounts that track direct costs associated with sales, goods, or other income. An example of cost of sales is the inventory cost of goods sold. The name of this account will appear on reports that group costs of sales items together.
- Special expenses code and Special expenses name: This account is used for as a header account for all non-normal or extraordinary expense accounts. This kind of expense is reported separately from normal expenses because it is not part of the normal costs and expenses of business. Examples include loss on disposal of written down plant and equipment, fines and penalties and fraud costs.
Account codes and names can be changed later through Uwazi’s Chart of Accounts screens.
